since i'm supposed to have slept last night at the chalet, i can't nap now after i got home. and since i'm too tired to do other stuff, i've decided to blog abt my weekend. eventful weekend is what i can summarize about it.




FRIDAY 24th June 2005


woke up feeling very vexed cause i simply can't decide which event should i go to for the night. i have the following choices - jap lesson, OG gathering via a choir concert at victoria hall or preparation for big bro's ROM. i went tuition at noon with a loaded and unwakened mind. poor boy to endure me like that. but i think i still did deliver my lesson across properly. in midst of the tuition, i've decided to go for the concert, miss the last jap lesson and go to the chalet after the concert. my decision was further affirmed when koko said that she can meet me during that time to go over together too.


met weiren at the city hall KFC. wearing my new pair of shoes i walked a long way to get there. had dinner then we rushed down to victoria concert hall. walking in my new pair of shoes again. this time cause our dear friend yao hua is already there we had to brisk walk. again, me in my new shoes. we reached there at 6.45, concert at 7.30, we realised that the hall seems empty of people, no one seemed to be coming for the same concert as us. instead of the NYJC's alumni choir concert tat we're told to come watch at the hall, in its place is the MAYFLOWER sec concert. we climbed up the stairs and down and up and down and up and down, me in my new shoes again. i must confess it hurts like hell, and by now a layer of my skin had already come off. no one seems to know where the NY concert is to be. and our ticket holder person came exactly at 7.30pm. totally missed us outside the ticket booth, went into the hall and seated without "volunteering" to call us and let us know that they can't find us and the tickets are left at the booth under weiren's name and he's already gone in. lucky it wasn't full house. i think he dare not approach us cause weiren was already swearing at him on the phone.


concert still ok.not sastified though. for me, i'm looking at it from a production point of view. i do not see the effort put into it. costume are not uniformed, they are not even of the same colour. quite dissapointed and missing IJ's concert and musical performance.


after concert on our way back to the station, we've decided among the 3 of us to go ktv one day. start off with small group and sing to our heart's out. hee. but stress la... weiren is in choir and achapella. nice voice he has. a smart guy too. met koko and weiren's girlfriend at the station. how can ktv be without koko. haha. so she'll be coming along. then weiren and his gf went off for a drink at millenia walk while the 3 of us took train back to the far tampines and pasir ris side. yao hua is a gossipy person lo. *shake head* haha


reached pasir ris at 10.38pm. missed the last chalet service bus and so had to take SBS then walk in. a long and ulu road. thank goodness koko is with me. we switched our shoes on the train. me wearing her slippers, she with my shoes. fitting her even more nicely then it did me. the sore area is now bleeding


reached the chalet. left our stuff in the room then we started work. helped in watever ways we can to deco the place. i am really impressed with the deco and designs by meiling's friend. really really nice. pink, purple and white sash,pink and white roses, blue marbles white chairs, wavy curtains with small pink roses sewn onto it. so so romantic, sigh i never got the chance to take photos of everything. we did everyting we can and had to call for the day cause tmr is a long day starting from 7.30am. but the waiting for bathrooms to wash up, painting of nails, talking left us with only 3 hours to sleep. not really happy with how a friend of mine acted though. not very nice things done. very inconsiderate. cheers for our friend TONY who slept on the cold floor under the air con. (me and koko ended up on the floor too).




SATURDAY 25th June

woke up early cause not really comfortable sleeping on the floor. washed up, had breakfast, little shifting around of some furniture. i'm to help with the cordail servings for guest. after preparation done, its bathing and dolling up time for our gals. we're the first 4 into the rooms to prepare but almost the last to be ready. haha. wonder why. but i like the results after all those effort. all of us look pretty. hee. even harold whom we never thought as handsome turned out to be attractive too.



rehearsal was held at about 8 plus. after which the bride was locked in and dolled up. she looked so so pretty with the blue gown. i really liked her hair. so class and elegant. its really true that girls look the prettiest on their wedding day.


10.45. we awaited for the arrival of the couple upon the playing of chun zhen. wat a song, once my fav song. ceremony started promptly. "ladies and gentlemen, i present to you the newly-wed couple Mr and Mrs Teng" woohoo. the crowd went crazy. so so romantic. meiling's mom teared when she handed meiling's hand over to him. we almost cried when they were pronounced husband and wife. we all know they had a hard time before they can get together on this fateful day to be married to each other. really felt happy for them. there are a couple of magical moments through out the ceremony. can't describe them here. but its just such a romantic affair.


after the signing ceremony is the phototaking session. we were then 'officially' announced as the god-sisters of the couple. hee.
buffet lunch was served. lunch taken and more photos taken. we then sneaked away to prepare our gift presentation. kaiwen is to give a short intro, me the first to give the movie vouchers, followed by koko (ring cushion), weiloong(champagne glasses), stella(condoms), junbin(piggy banks), ziliang(pair of pacifier), meiqi(a box of sweets and a card). 7 small gifts from 7 people in group who wishes both of them a happy and wonderful life together.


when the guests are gone, the couple together with the elders and some friends made their way outdoors for photo shooting. we were planning to sleep in the room but can't cause everyone just seem to so like coming in and out of the room. no choice, we gave up. came out and played cards throughout the afternoon.


then came bbq which started very late. some miscommunications and lack of enthu here from some people. so we had to entertain ourselves. so we had a table of us with TONY, ZAC and at uncle (harold's dad) at a point of time, playing stupid OG games. well, it may be lame but it kept everyone entertained. in the end uncle even approached us asking to play chinese chess. i wasn;t that tired to actually admit that i know how to play chess. knowing and playing is totally very very different. haha. in the end, all of us ended up watching TONY and then YUAN playing chess with uncle, all of whom lost to him.


meiqi had to leave us at about 11 plus. she still hasn;t recovered from her flu and cough and i think it worsened during her stay there, especially with the lack of sleep the night before. the rest of us washed up while majority packed up to leave. majority referring to the other group of the couple's friends. we stayed behind. and eventually started playing mahjong with auntie (harold's mom). only stella and tony know how to play. me,koko had a crash course and practical training session there and then. at least it kept me awake while i was playing. played till 3plus then stella saying that she's hungry and wanted noodles. so ZAC cooked for all of us maggie noodles. nice chap that guy. he's also a good bartender. haha. after eating cannot tahan anymore. nodding off sitting on the sofa. lights out at 4 i think. all 5 of us squeezed on the bed, as usual with a little joking and fan fare session from our ever dearest koko that made tony take out his mp3 and blast himself to sleep. haha. poor chap. didn't take long for all of us to knock out. i guess its about 15mins max. slept soundly to 7.30am whereby we packed, and left at 9am.




NEW FRIENDS MADE
ZaC - 'bartender' for the chalet, buddy of harold. chioing person. nice chap to talk to. knows his way around the pubs and clubs. very buddy. helps out in watever ways is possible.


Tony - photographer for the whole event. sporty, outgoing. was seen reading biography of Armstrong whenever he's free. goes running in the area when he's sian and bored. first aider, canoer, life-guard, chionger. last night kept telling us to chio him out and chiong.


Yuan and Yi Wei (vanessa) - yuan and tony are collegues. very well-trained with all the techincal gadgets etc. yuan is the video man of the event. yi wei, his girlfriend is a pretty gal working in SIA, nice friendly gal who also appeared on koko's bdae.


uncle and auntie - not the first time meeting them, but first time talking and 'playing' with them. few of us even volunteered to bbq marshmallows for them. since they've never tried it before. haha. nice people they are. uncle is also an expert in mahjong.haha.


yanru - niece of ours. god-daughter of the couple. had a nice little talk with her before she left to bring her client for estate viewing in town. she even gave us some tips of buying of property.


jun ming - whom i shared my maggie noodles with, but did not speak more than 10 sentences to throughout the stay. another mahjong advicer of the night. think is a relative of harold. slept on majong tiles for the night.

a few other girls friends of meiling whom we worked with but don't know their names. especially to note the designer of the whole place. wonder if she's feeling better, having vomitted twice on saturday and was forced to leave earlier then planned.
